Tierra Adentro House

I came across this house in a magazine and fell in love with it. It is a beautiful representation of how contemporary architecture and interior design can be true to context and setting.

This house is designed to be a retreat and a place of calm tranquility. And it certainly succeeds at this. The austere simplicity of this house is celebrated by the use of natural materials as well as warm traditional colors and building materials in a very contemporary way. One of my favorite things about this design is the beautiful natural plaster walls that have been hand trowelled in the traditional manner. It connects the house with the land and its elements, giving it a sense of rawness as well as warmth.
